Help!
After buying a quilting kit at a show a few weeks ago I gleefully got it out only to find I can't understand the instructions of how to cut the fabric.
More particularly which bit of fabric is for which part of the quilt.

It's called snapshot and its from mountain peek creations. # 298. Designed by Kari Nichols.
We bought it from patchwork corner.
OH took a picture but of the finished quilt on the stall but can't find it now. grrrrr!

The fabric is a series that is sepia sewing images and newspaper type cutting and writing.
Does any kind person recognise that description? Might have a colour pic?
Failing that any other tips would be gratefully received.
I am so thick sometimes....

Oh wow! Fast work.

The block shapes are the same, although my quilt has less of them but its different fabric.

Is it called snapshot too?

yes, here is the website I got it from:
Mountainpeek Creations

edit: when I check the link it takes me to their main page. Just type in 'snapshot' in the search bar and it brings up that pattern.

Thank you Cat n Bull.
its not the fabric then, should we assume 'snap shot' is the name of how it's pieced?

I have no other names for the fabric design.
The pattern is number 298?

Yes, pattern # is 298.

And snapshot is the name of the pattern, so I guess that yes that means the way it is pieced!

The pattern says it has sizing for lap to king size, so the difference in the amount of rectangles is probably to keep the pattern pieces the same size for the different finished size quilts.

Does your kit say it has fabric for borders?

Yes, there is fabric for borders. It has fabric for everything but the backing.

We bought it from a Patchwork corner, not mountain peek designs.

I wonder if patchwork corner substituted their fabric, using the snapshot piecing design and that's why the design matches but the fabric.

Is 'snapshot' a quilt design to be done in different fabrics, like log cabin?

If that's the case I should be able to match my pieces of fabric to the Fabric Requirements list. That should lead me to know how to cut each section.
Does that sound logical?

Yes, that sounds exactly like what you've bought.

Mountainpeek created the pattern. The store you bought it from put their own fabrics together to sell as a kit.

So yes take your fabrics from your kit and match them up with the fabric requirements on the pattern.

edit:
check your kit to see what SIZE it says your quilt will be! The directions on the pattern may have directions for different sizes, depending on how they print them and also on how the store sells it.

That's a pretty pattern.
I've seen now that happens a lot. A shop will make up a kit with different fabrics then the original pattern used. Sometimes it's because it's a re-issue of a pattern and the original fabrics aren't available any more. Like in the case of my Celestial dreams pattern.
