You go around the shop area at work measuring the height of work benches to determine what height your cutting table should be

We have an extensive shop area (dubbed Area 51) at the engineering firm I work at. I was out there on Friday and thought...hmmm, these are nice tables. Hmmm...this would make a niiiice cutting table. And then I broke out the tape measurer and started taking measurements!

So yeah, I decided my table needs to be 35-36" high!

Yes Height of your cutting table is very important, If you are like me and do just about everything at the cutting table, I would make sure the height is right so that your back doesn't hurt. at time I sit at on a bar stool at my table to do rhinestone work or placement work for very long times, so if your having a table made have it made the perfect height for you.

That's funny and I can relate! I have a fold-away cutting table that is perfect for me, however my sewing table is too high. On a slow day at work one day I was obsessing about it and measuring tables in the Preservation Lab. That is also where, years ago, I tried out the extendable clamp-on lamps in the lab and ended up getting one from DH for Christmas. I used to love those slow days at work!

I have way too many yards to count, and I will never use them up, but I will die trying!

My goal is to move my drafting table and stool home from my office. Now where did I put that clamp on light?

What you need to work on is convincing management at work that they need to replace their tables. When they've bought into that idea, you can casually mention that you might know where they could offload them.
