With all of the questions that I've seen about the BL Imagine vs other sergers, I wanted to post a picture of what I found most compelling between the Imagine/Evolve and the Enlighten/Evolution.

For the record, I went in to my dealer thinking I would probably buy an Imagine, but when I noticed the difference in the amount and quality of light on the Enlighten, I was sold. I DID buy an Evolution in the end, but I picked that over the Enlighten due to getting it as a classroom price (ended up only a couple hundred more than the Enlighten).

The actual machines pictured are the Imagine (I was told by a reputable source that the lighting is the same as is on the Evolve) and the Enlighten (the same lighting as on my Evolution).

Anyway, this is just something to consider. For those of us not blessed with a ton of natural light in our sewing areas, this has made a massive difference for me.

it doesn't matter what type of sewing you do. you are sewing, and sewing is good.

A "clear" example of why I traded my Imagine Wave for an Enlighten.

I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life!
And Baby (Enlighten serger), Victor (BLCS), Rupert (Pfaff 2023-knits expert) Ash (B350SE-Artwork), Kee (B750QEE-Panzy's BFF), Georgie (B560-Kee's baby sister) and the Feather-Flock!

Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you.

Great illustration. If a budget permits, your pictures clearly show that daily 'extra' bonus that I am willing to pay for.

I will give up another of life's expenses to pay pennies (or quarters) per use/day extra for a feature that I know will make the process more enjoyable every time I use a machine.

I feel the same about the oversized bobbin in my newer sewing machine. I knew I would like it, didn't know how much I would appreciate it over and over again.
..........

It is ridiculous how much buying a machine has become like buying vehicles. Power seats are an important feature for us. Unfortunately, power seats are typically bundled with other vehicle features that have no real dollar value to us. We enjoy some of the extra features since they are included but would never seek them out or pay extra for them.

Great and thoughtful post, thank you.

I, also, traded in my Evolve for the better lighting on the Enlighten. Great machine!

I was set to buy an Evolve in 2010 when I learned that the Evolution with "stadium lighting" was due out soon. It was hard to wait but I was so glad that I did. The lighting has really made a difference.
