I was looking at some things I found on Pinterest (and then following links), and landed on this page:

Camp Stitchalot - a sewing retreat with classes. Some are even taught by bloggers I have read (Made by Rae and Noodlehead are the ones I know). But it's in Michigan. Can't just pack up the car with whatever UFOs and prepped fabric and machines.

So I was wondering if there are any little retreats (camp for grownups!) like this that happen regularly in Texas?

google on Sewing retreat TX or whatever your state is. This is how I found my local quilt guild. And some guilds are in to sewing of all kinds, not just quilts. Mine in NJ does all kinds of fiber crafts.

My ASG group has a sewing beach retreat twice a year. Maybe the ones in Texas have something similar.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

If you find something let us now. I live about two and a half hours from Houston and that would be great.

There's a huge sewing expo in Ft Worth Texas coming soon! Google it and maybe find one near you! http://www.sewingexpo.com/ . Keep us posted on what you find!

Donna, have you seen these retreats listed in the Texas hill country area?

Yes! I found the nicest group of women by joining the American sewing guild and the Plano, tx chapter. They hold an annual sewing retreat on Lake Texoma in January. I'm going for the second time, and my sister's are coming too, flying in from Arizona and Alaska. If you are in north Texas, consider joining in or consult your local chapter of the American Sewing Guild. Plus your membership gets you lots of sewing related discounts.
