I love this machine, so smooth, and a tank - feels like it will never, ever break down or call it a day. But why is the foot pedal starting to get hot? I am not talking slightly warm, but too hot to the touch. And this is with less than an hour of sewing time - not talking about too many hours' use. I am assuming something electrical going wrong inside? I probably need to buy a new foot pedal replacement?

I would replace or repair. Mine doesn't get that hot!

It sounds like it needs replaced or repaired if that is possible. I wouldn't use it; if it is too hot to touch, maybe a fire hazard? I have never heard of something like this catching fire but I would be a little worried. I think you can find replacements pretty easily.

Yes, I think you're both correct. I thought of it being a fire hazard, myself (because I think it's electrical, inside). I unplugged it completely, from the machine and from the electrical outlet. It shouldn't be too hard to get a replacement. Thanks for confirming my thoughts on it!

I will try. I am not very computer-tech savvy.

Btw, do you have one, too? Or one of the 158-series?

Don't have one...just like to see what they look like. Sort of nostalgic to see the oldies...thinking oh that looks like my aunt's, or my mom's...or even one I had years ago.

And...a PR friend's sister has a Kenmore Ultra Stitch 10 which she is trying to keep happily sewing...so we email each other about that one.
