My favourite mechanical sewed all my stretch fabrics and sewed on elastic very well and now it doesn't. Walking foot, not walking foot, stretch, microtex, regular, small, large needles, more tension, less tension. Nothing seems to work! What the heck? The only difference is that I had it serviced. Grrrr.......

Any ideas?

Oh dear I can't bear thinking about you not being able to make your beautiful dresses!

Can you find out from the service person the details of what they did? It might help to figure what's different...

I hope you can figure it out real soon

If you can't figure it out, take it back. Their service should be under warranty. (Maybe they forgot to put back a part.)

I have not yet begun to procrastinate

Update: soon I will decide when I will begin procrastinating.

I would tend to think that the service changed something when they serviced it. Maybe they adjusted the feed dogs?

Gee - I was so busy ranting I forgot to be specific. It is skipping stitches like mad. I looked at my other dresses and sure, there were a few skips, but this is ridiculous.

Taking in before and after samples to the service tech might help diagnose what changed.

I agree, go back to the shop & show them what is happening.

I'm going to guess they adjusted the bobbin tension & it isn't working for you. That is basically a wild guess on my part, based on you having tried pretty much everything else!

Anne - I think you may be right. Here is a link to a photo I took this morning. I have done trials with quite a few variations and the bobbin thread showing to the top is the common denominator. I have several more machines I can try, but don't know if I will have time or patience to get to that until next week.

Rewind the bobbin and be sure it is inserted correctly. Sounds loose.
