I think I'll keep my husband around just a wee bit longer

He researched and picked up and put together the JoAnn's cutting table for me last night! He said it's my temporary solution until he can build me the one I want. It was on sale for $79.99.

I'd read the reviews and was a little concerned about it. BUT I think for the money, it's a bargain. It's much better than the floor or bending over the 29" dining room table.

What I think will help it remain nice and stable for me is, the ability to leave it up, at all times. I won't be letting the arms down or moving it around, etc. Also, I won't be using it for any other purposes - e.g., ironing. It was SO nice to be able to work last night without strain!

Up next - a sewing table! My SM is okay on the folding table but my serger makes the whole thing shake something awful.

Nice find, Mrs. Charisma, love the energy you bring to the sewing table.

'Legs' of cut lengths of 4 inch PVC pipe are great for extra support under any of your work surfaces. We even covered a length of PVC pipe with fabric to put under the third leaf when setting out holiday feasts that make our dinng table groan.

If you have a silicone pot holder or some non-slip shelf liner you could put that between your card table and the PVC pipe to help with your dancing serger.

Oooh, thanks for the tips! I do have some of that shelf liner and PVC is readily and cheaply available.

So you'd just cut it the length necessary to sit (otherwise unsupported) under the table?

That's the table I have currently just keep the little screwdriver thing it came with as you will need to tightened it after a while. I threw mine away hence a wobbly table now. I've had mine for about 11 years or so.

Nice to know it's lasted you so long!

I'll tape it to the underside of the table...that's my fix for things like thisIt's *right* there and always handy that way.

Yup! If you are concerned about the PVC scratching your floor you could also shave a little extra off and use the non slip stuff on the floor too, or a piece of felt. As long as the pipe is cut evenly it will be very stable.

That's a great idea! I'v been meaning to take a picture of the screws and then head over to home depot to see if maybe they have something I could use. It's on the terribly long list of things to do.

I have that table! I've used it for almost 10 years, and it's still going strong. Since I'm short and mine is on carpet, I took the casters off. Over time, I found it 'settles.' To get the top perfectly level again, I stack circles of craft felt between the swing-out legs and the underside of the top.

I hope you love cutting on it!
