Well, I've bought a zillion boxes of pins over the years and if I'd known better I'd have bought these in the beginning and it would have been loads cheaper in the long run.
It pays to buy quality tools.

Got a coupon? If not, go to the JA website and see if you can download one.

That's 9 cents per pin and I think the Fons & Porter pins run about 10 cents per pin and I believe they are slimmer and sharper.

Last Saturday I think it was...I was there but don't remember if Friday or Saturday...anyhoo...it was 70% off of notions to celebrate Joann's 70th Anniversary of being in business.

Try to get pins with a Joann's coupon as suggested.

Got a Walmart near you? Its regular prices are less than Joann's regular prices.

I just bought the exact glass head pins you linked from Nancy's Notions .... Take a look at Newark Dressmakers' Supply - the price is $6.50.

Good to know, however I'm pretty well supplied now with pins for the rest of my life.
I'll sure check Newark for other nifty items though. Thanks for mentioning it.

I don't think the price is too outrageous if they are quality glass or metal ball head pins. Make sure you can iron over them. Last time around I got Dritz 1.5" metallic head pins and I'm happy with them. Since the heads are large, gold, and shiny, I can see the ones I drop! Got them at JoAnn's in the quilting section but don't remember the price.

Large, gold, and shiny heads sound good. I got quilters' pins that have all yellow heads...same reason...easier to see the large yellow ball heads when dropped. Don't care for multi colored pins...can't see the dark ones when dropped on the floor.

I think Joann's now has to price things in that of their way of thinking, people are most often only going to buy them on sales and with coupons, just since they always have weekly sales and coupons for almost anything at 40% off with one of those. So, I think everything just gets jacked up in price about an additional 40%, to allow for that even sometimes. Sort of like same thing happens at all the grocery stores.

So probably kind of a circular event of having the coupons all the time, is that then they have to raise prices on stuff in return even. Good I guess if you have a coupon, not good if you just run in there, and was not planning to go there, that day, and so did not bring one with you!
