I am looking at the rowenta master steam costco has right now. Really like the sharp point. I do mostly apparel sewing.
It doesn't have great reviews so I am looking for input on a good steam iron for sewing.

I have had three Rowentas in the past but now have a Black & Decker Digital Advantage and it steams better than any of the Rowentas. I was really surprised to say the least. I really like it.

I bought a Rowenta Eco iron from Bed Bath and Beyond with a 20% off coupon and I love it. The eco part is where you turn a switch and it just chugs out a soft stream of steam like a small train. I have had the real expensive Rowentas and I like this one much better.

Good luck,

Claire

I used to have nothing but Rowentas but got fed up with the leaking & spitting. I have the Velocity V100 & just love it. I also like the Olisso iron.

I'm seeing the Oliso being used by Jenny at Missouri Star as well as Nancy Z. It looks crazy-cool. I don't need a new iron (knock on wood) but I'd be tempted if I did.
I've had the Rowenta 5085 that's like this one and it's been great.

I have the Rowenta which is fairly new and really DISLIKE it. I'd never buy that brand again. Leaks and spits when busting a seam, then the fabric's all wet to sew on again.

I'd like to know what would be a good one to purchase.

my latest rowenta has joined the "spitting" phase they seem to progress to lately. My fav local quilt shop sells and uses Reliable, they seem to work nice; for now I'm just putting up with my rowenta until it gives out. Oliso was on a one day JoAnn's web deal last week, but in checking reviews that model people did not like. Reliable also in that $100 plus range.

I had a Black & Decker that I loved but the sole plate bubbled up. When I tried to see about a replacement sole plate, B&D told me they had NO replacement parts for this iron (same thing happened with my can opener). I'm swearing off B&D. I like to fix things when they break down...not throw them away. I have a Rowenta now and like it very much. Consumer Reports rated Rowenta Effective Comfort DW2070 as a best buy.
