What's the most you'd pay for a used Bernina 131 with 5 feet, knee lift, and walking foot?

Depends if you're buying or selling, but $400 sounds about right.

If I had to replace my machine, I'd miss automatic buttonholes.

This machine would be my first "computerized" one.

I know the buttonholes are a little old fashioned, but not as old fashioned as the Greist attachment kind that I love!

I looked at the few completed listings on ebay, which were all just under $500. With the walking foot, extension tale, knee lift...those add ons should be worth something. The machine looks clean. The original manual is included. We live in an area where people will pay too much for things, unfortunately. Hmm, I may bite the bullet and get this machine.

Were these in the $1000 ballpark, new, if they had knee lift & ext. table?

Here's some ad copy descrbing the machine

Unlike most activas, it's full sized. and made in switzerland.

The knee lift is very useful. The walking foot is very well made-- replacement cost for Bernina's new tri-soled model is well over $150.

It does have adjustable presser foot pressure, which might come in handy.

The button holes (in two styles) are manual-- which is a pity-- bernina's automatic buttonhole foot is really quite nice.

The lighting is most likely a primitive incandescent bulb. There's no needle threader. Repairs might be costly. It has few stitches, but most likely all the stitch patterns you need for clothing construction.

Perhaps my estimate was a little too low.

This activa 131 sold for $500

This activa 130 sold for 355

I want to thank everyone for their input on this. I have decided not to spend the $$. The machine is on Columbus, OH Craigslist, if anyone else wants it. It sure looks like a nice one!
