My daughter would like to make a skirt similar to ones she owns: pull-on - without a zipper - for a very stable knit like a ponte or even a stretchy woven with lots of spandex. This style doesn't use the usual narrow elastic with the bulkier waistband, but rather a wider yoke w/o waistband (so not gathering at the waist) and sometimes has 3 gores below the yoke on both front and back. Hope this description makes sense. I've searched the pattern catalogs of the Big 4 and other companies with no luck. Help??

Maybe the Polkadot Overload tutorial? You'd have to split the skirt part into gores, though.

Christine Jonson has a tutorial on this waistband on her website.

Thank you all for your posts. Style Arc was the one company I didn't check.

She is a beginner, so I think having a pattern would be more helpful than a tutorial, but I did save that for future use.

thanks again!
