I am a big fan of Janomes and own two of them. I can't speak for this one so I don't know. Have you tried them both out?

I think you'll have a bit more room in the arm on the Viking, plus the needle plate pops off for cleaning. Viking has great feet but Janome's probably cost a bit less. Both are really nice machines. That's a hard decision...I like both! The Janome has a great basic selection of stitches to get you through just about any project. The Viking will have more decorative stitches, should you want something like that. It will most likely cost more than the Janome. Can you get a chance to sew on both?

I like Janomes. I haven't had any experience with the Husqvarna.

I don't have any experience with the Husqvarna Viking, but I did have the Janome Threadbanger TB-30, which is the same as the 4030 except for its decoration on the outside. It was a great machine, stitched through quilts with no problem, had presser foot pressure adjustment, 30 very useful stitches, a start/stop button. I gave it to my honorary niece, and she loves it because it stitches so smoothly.

I have the Viking Opal 670 and really love it. It has a few more stitches, auto thread cutter, bobbin sensor, electronic self-adjusting thread tension and touch screen that the 650 doesn't have but otherwise same machine. I thought it was a better deal for the money difference ($200 more) with all the added features. It has great stitch quality and is very user friendly. Check out the reviews for both 650 and 670 here on PR.
I bought it for a travel machine and backup when I have the big machine set up for embroidery. It is a great machine!
But you should go try both the Janome and Viking out and see which fits you better. That is what counts!!

Why the need to decided "quickly"?
You say you like both...have you test sewn on both?
Make a list of what you liked and didn't like about each one...maybe that will help.
We can all say what "we" like best...but it's going to be YOUR sm.
