I placed my first Style Arc order and am happily at play with the pattern pieces. My goal? Try a pattern from a different independent, new to me, pattern company each year.

Jump in with anything that you find intriguing and just a little information to help folks sort through the companies.

Megan Nielson Design

Check out the thought she put into the wearability of The Crescent Top. (bust sizes 34 inches to 42 inches)

Her overall vibe is youthful and the small collection includes a smattering of ageless youthful casual designs. Refreshing.

I like this challenge! There are so many new pattern designers out there, it does make you want to branch out. I've already ordered from Style Arc, so that one wouldn't count for me. Many of the other designers are serving a youthful niche - it will be fun to search and find one that I like for the older, stodgier me.
Maybe Grainline - both the Archer and Scout seem to be right down my alley.

If you look through the posts tagged indiedesigner @ DixieDIY you can find quite a few new-to-me lines.

Also check out the Free Pattern Downloads thread here. I perso listed a couple I knew nothing about until that time.

I know Cutting Line Designs have been around awhile. But if you haven't tried one, do it! Great instructions and techniques will elevate your sewing skills. They do tend to have a lot of ease, so measure a garment that fits and compare to the pattern pieces. I often go down a size or two, esp. on overblouses, etc.

I like the Hearts AFlutter and Pure and Simple.

I like a lot of the indie pattern company patterns and have used a fair number of them. Hot Patterns, Victory, Grainline Studio, Indygo Junction, Decades of Style, Sewing Workshop come to mind right off the bat. Like Marec am going to be using a Sewn Square One pattern for a new barn coat. Not every one has worked out and there are some I never bother with because they just aren't drafted for my particular set of needs, but for the most part, I love having so many options besides the big 4. I don't think I've bought a big 4 pattern in close to a year and only have one in my TNT pile.

After being away from sewing for a few years, I am just discovering some new lines. I bought a Sewaholic after seeing a review, and have many indie lines in my pattern stash. And funny, I was going through them thinking it was time to make some of them up, especially since none of my fabric sold in my recent yard sale despite its fantastic pricing.
