I have 2 half yard cuts (same print) of some Amy Butler fabric that I love. I've had it for a couple of months, and I just don't know what to do with it.

Seeing as I only have limited quantity, what would YOU make with it? I've never sewn with laminated cotton, but I have sewn pretty frequently with clear vinyl so it should be a breeze.

Here is a pic of the fabric. In case the link doesn't work, it is Treasure Box in Charcoal. :)

I've mostly seen the laminated fabric made into bags: lunch bags, shopping bags, purses, etc. Also, placemats, glasses cases, and other storage cases.

Here are some ideas ,but these patterns obviously cost. .Erica's

I've seen free ones on other websites. I did a search and found the following: 14 Lunchbag patterns

The above site has many free patterns: Sewing Support: Free Sewing Patterns

My first thought was also bags--maybe a makeup bag/toiletries pouch?--but when I'm looking for inspiration, I like to see what other folks have made by looking on etsy--31 pages of handmade laminated-cotton items! Everything from lunch bags to bike seats (!) to baby bibs to reusable bowl covers (those were really cute).

Don't forget that Amy Butler has a whole line of patterns, and many of them feature her laminated fabrics. Too bad you don't have enough to make the raincoat.

Cosmetic Bags? I found a free HotPatterns download on Fabric.com that looks like it would work for me (thinking about making cosmetic bags for gifts this Christmas).

I'm thinking kitchen apron or waist fastened gardening half apron with pockets for tools.

i used the pattern that you suggested! i didn't particularly like the pattern instructions (and the pieces were missing the notches), so i just ignored part of the instructions because they weren't helpful. thankfully, i had just done the specific construction technique on another bag last week. LOL.

both sizes are super cute, and they would make excellent gifts. if you do decide to make it, just know that you need to mark notches on the side pieces 5/8" from the each end on the top and bottom (of the bag sides).

I love laminated cotton. I have made grocery totes, pool totes, placemats, and picnic blankets, and tablecloths.
