My next sewing adventure will be a chanel style jacket for the fall. Most of the big 4 and many independent companies have patterns for this style. Please share your very favorite pattern for a stunning chanel style jacket.

The one I've been using is Vogue 7975. I took a 2-day class with Claire Shaeffer in Novi, MI last year and got her new pattern, Vogue 8804. I just started another jacket and had every intention of using the new pattern, but in the end decided to use the older one, mostly because I already had the muslin from the 3 jackets I've already made, and I really love how they fit.
I learn so much from Claire's class, especially about basting and hand-sewing.
I refer quite a bit to Susan's Kahlje's Threads article as well--issue 121.
There are pictures on my blog of the last one I made from a coat that belonged to my aunt: http://sewsewnerdy.blogspot.com/2011/09/upcycled-chanel-jacket.html

Vogue 8259, the out of print Claire Shaeffer pattern, is my favorite. I have made it 3 times and absolutely love it. I often plan to try a new pattern but then when it comes down to sewing a new Chanel style jacket, it is nice to have a TNT rather than having to adjust the fit of a new pattern.
