I ordered some of their Dusty Lavender Pique and it is gorgeous! The description says it's 20% silk, 80% cotton but it feels like there is way more silk in it than that. Beautiful hand, medium weight, opaque, wonderful soft sheen, and the color is just marvelous-- a gentle, quiet lavender that will look spectacular with all the grey I wear. IRL the lavender is a little clearer/less dusty than the pic. It washed up like a dream. At only $5.75 a yard I ordered 5 more yards! I also ordered the Pale Green Pique which is the same fabric only in a frosty pistachio (not the plague green in the pic) -- again, it'll look great with grey. Grab it if you can!

I do a lot of sewing for dolls so I got a bunch of small cuts for that. The Apricot Orange Shriting is really interesting. It has a crisp organza like hand and a strange texture.... sort of like raw silk maybe? The White and Red Floral Challis is all rayon and super soft and drapey and washed up very well. The print is really fun. I also got some more shirtings, all fab quality except for the Pink Check Shirting which was wrinkled in the swatch pic, wrinkled when it came, and unfortunately wrinkled after washing.

OOOh. I need some of that pink crinkle business, but prefer blue and white. Thanks for the heads up!

Brenda, I should have specified that it's good quality too, just not what I was looking for. I assume it's one of those fabrics with the wrinkles/crinkles built into the weave. BTW, if you're looking for blue and white they have a really pretty blue and white double gauze plaid. I would have gotten some but I don't know how to work with plaids LOL

Do you think that Pique could be machine washed?

Yes! I put thru the washer (hot water) and the dryer and it came out beautifully. No fuzz, no color change. I didn't measure for shrinkage but it didn't seem to shrink much that I can tell. The only thing I noticed was that it became a little a softer with a nicer hand... like what you would expect from washing out a fair amount sizing. It's got a beautiful drape and sheen (even after washing) which makes me think it has way more silk than the advertised 20%. I've already used the some of the pale green in a scarf for my sister and it sewed and ironed like a dream. Very easy to work with.

BTW, the pique isn't as textured as most piques I'm used to. It certainly has a texture but it's more subtle... I think the swatch pic gives a good indication of what it's like.

Oh, darn you enablers.
I believe you should have to give us a yard kick-back if you make us add to our stash!
FFC buyers, how do you narrow down your searches there? For instance, if I am looking for "bird fabric" I also get all the stickers, appliques, etc. Takes a long time to scroll thru them
Has their shipping/service improved?

On the Denver Fabrics site after you do a search you'll notice that there is a box up top that lets you refine your search by price, color, category, and width. Under "by category" click on "apparel fabric" and that will give you all the listings for apparel fabric. If you want to see the home dec fabric, simply click on "more" under "by category" and then click "home dec fabrics". HTH!
