They're basically all the same, so just wait for the 99 cents sales or find one in a thrift store. **Fast and easy for kids are the ones with no side seams. Get the kids' waist sizes for the elastic, as pattern measurements don't always consider thin or chubby waists. Zigzag/serge over all seams for double strength.
My GK's want to wear their PJ pants all the time when I make them in superheroes, princesses, cartoon characters-whatever their current craze. Cottons for summer and cozy flannels for winter. Be sure to add pockets for treasures, the big J-shaped ones are great for little cars etc. and easy (unlike cargos) because they're sewn into the side seam.

I second the vote for Kwik Sew. They have a really nice selection of basics and, in my experience, the instructions are always very clearly written.
