I wanted to try something new.

Next time Im using old paint from the basement.

I really like the way it came out. I might do more quilting after I wash it.

Just Curious. Did you use "Spray Paint" or a fabric paint that is now in spray form? How heavy of a fabric did you use, so it did not bleed through? Was this just cotton? Or another type of fabric? My daughter saw this and thinks this would be way cool to do for LARP (Live Action Role Playing).

Oooooo, I love this. The thread painting adds so much. It reminds me of something I would see in an Art Gallery. I like your thinking, outside the box.

This is great! Had you seen this technique before? I've never seen anything like this. It is lively, colorful and quite interesting!

I had not seen it before. One of my goals is to use more recycled fabrics and one way to make that more fun is to add the ability to make my own prints on old fabrics.

While I did use new cans of normal paint - next time ill use old paint = making the use of trash doubled. Waste fabric and paint.

I bought the spray paint for a performance piece I was going to do with a newspaper dress and spray paint. It rained and, I only got to wear the paper dress.

While I have not seen it before Im sure its being done. Isnt everything?

Well, it is like an art piece. I would love to see it if you do more quilting on it! Thanks for sharing your work, Portland!

Thank you for the encouragement - I love to try new things with quilting. I know that first tries are not the best - but, I still like them. New ideas to work with!

That is neat. They do make fabric paints and then some are heat set with a hot iron afterwards. Also back in the 1920's when stenciling was popular, I think lots of people just even used oil paints, (like out of a tube even) but I think they thinned it down some. But also, with an air compressor or a air brush, just about anything is spray paint then.
