Why am I always looking for shoes?Because good sandals which I seem to have come to as the only kind of shoes that don't hurt my 68 yr old toes are so ugly or expensive or cheap looking. I made do with 1 pair of $100 Romikas for 1 year and my slippers. Then on Zappos I saw Fly Flot on sale and thought I"d give it a shot.[[$38]Italian leather, great craftmanship red, navy, two toned brown in many cool styles, with pretty little buckles. They are really soft and padded inside and they look so stylish and Euro-designed.They look great with ankle pants and capris. I know have shoes that will look pretty with my skirts.I know its unforgivable to wear socks with sandals but I wear knee socks in winter and I think even this will look good.So if like me,shoes have you in a quandrey when you are trying to plan an outfit have a look at FLY FLOT. I have two pairs and must control an urge to buy them all before they disappear from the market.

"must control an urge to buy them all before they disappear from the market"

I used to feel that way about Famolare's. Went shopping to get one or two pairs once, to take on a vacation and turned out there was a huge sale, and I actually got 5 or 6 pairs for the price I was going to and planning on to pay for the two pairs. This was a very long time ago. No problem except had a fidigety boy friend in tow on the shopping trip. Whom was freaking out, just because I was only buying a few pairs of shoes. And for no good reason at all, it was not like he was paying for them or anything. For years, and years I never heard the end of it, that I "bought 5 or 6 pairs of shoes" all at the same time! But wore them all the time, and it was a good thing.

If you find a pair of shoes you really like, and are super comfortable too, and you know you are going to wear them a lot and for years, I actually think buying 2 pairs alike is a good thing. As years down the road, you might not even be able to find them again. Then you can just even switch off between them, and they will last twice as long :)

Oh gosh, just after I bought four pairs of Clarks and one pair of Hotters this year...Fly Flot. I think I'll have a looksee.

ETA: Oh my. They look a lot like my expensive Danskos. Hmmm. Next to the sewing machine enablers here, we should have a Shoe enablers thread...SAD = Shoe Acquisition Disease...

I have had a flare-up of plantar fasciitis this month from standing on my feet too much. This time it is affecting my ankle too, so I needed a shoe for standing and walking that has a stable rocker sole.

I ordered three pairs of Alegria shoes last week, the ones with the thicker soles that work like a Dansko clog, but fit my foot better. I told DH it was cheaper than going to a podiatri$t and coming home with one of those walking boot$ or a cu$tom orthotic. Four days later, my arch, heel, and ankle are much better as long as I wear the Alegrias. I really only needed two pairs so I could rotate them every other day, but the extra pair in a snakeskin print just jumped into my cart on the way to checking out.

Finally learning that shoes that fit well are worth the expense.

Just not colors that are too close together, it sucks when you realize you've worn one black and one navy shoe to work...
