Friends are having a baby and have decided not to find out the baby sex. How exciting!
I finished a small stroller or a car seat quilt earlier this month but when I came across this Tina Givens fabric I had in my stash I knew I had to make another.
I used the fabric and did not piece a quilt top but rather made a strip set backing. Since it was quick I decided to add the bright green inner binding and used a blue polka dot fabric for the outer border.
I signed up for a hand quilting course on Craftsy and decided to give it a try with this quilt. I used a feather stencil for the top and bottom border and a feather medallion for the corners. I added an embroidered daisy in each medallion to mimic the daisy in the fabric. I made a heart stencil that I used for the border sides again taking from the fabric.
Binding was made fussy cutting the fabric and used on the front by Tina Givens.
I am having fun embroidering a cute label for the quilt. Just need the babies name and DOB.
