Good morning dear sewers,

I am willing to replace my sewing machine.
I owned a Janome sew mini (when we moved abroad it was compact and weightless : ideal traveling sewing machine). But it is dying (fair enough... harsh treatment).
So, after reading a lot of reviews, and according to my bank account, I chose the Janome 8077.
But, I am surprised, the purchase price is so different abroad ! Here in France, it is hard to find it under 500, whereas it is 300$ (~230) on amazon.com ! Unfortunately, amazon doesn't ship to France... So that is the question : does someone know about a shop that will ship the Janome 8077 to France ?

Thank you so much in advance for your help !

Have a nice and beautiful day, full of sewing projects !

I do not think you would save much money since shipping from the US would require you to pay extra fees, taxes and more shipping cost. Plus, the machine would be made to work on US electricity system...so you would be spending more money on a voltage converter and an outlet adapter.

With that said, if you still want to order from the US then one place I can think of that ships internationally is: www.overstock.com
and it has the Janome 8077. To see about shipping to France...click on the tiny flag icon in the very upper right corner of the overstock.com home page...on the next page choose the flag icon for France...then of course look for the 8077 by writing Janome 8077 in the search box.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried looking in the UK? Might be less to buy within the EU?
Here is a link to a machine which I understand is the same one as you have been looking at
http://www.sewingmachines.co.uk/JanomeSMD3000_info.htm
don't know if they ship to France but, might be worth a look

Thank you for your message bestgrammy.

I am well aware of taxes and other fees that may apply (and I am equiped with a converter and an adapter already), but I am really thinking this through, looking at all possibilities and closing no doors.

It is always good to get some feedback or advices on what solutions may be available !

Thank you again for your insightful comment.

Have a peaceful day (or night !).

I have bought twice from sewingmachines.co.uk and their service is quick and easy. Delivery was free to Ireland and also France.
It was an easy transaction with no additional costs, quick delivery.
I've not needed to get back to them for any reason so can't comment on after sales.
Oh yes, I did want to get a knife for my serger (also bought there) but their price for that was quite high so I bought elsewhere...

Just looked again at the website linked, and they do ship to France.
I've bought from them in the past, and they are so helpful. Lots of members of my quilting group [we are in the far north of Scotland] have bought from them too, so can recommend.

Thank you for you feedback on this shop !

I read a lot of good reviews for them on the internet.

They do ship to France, for free ! The Janome you saw seaside sewer seems to be exactly the same as the 8007, maybe just an older version ?
Anyway, now I am looking on some reviews for this particular sewing machine. They also have a XL601 refurbished, for more or less the same price (>>>here<<<).
I don't know what to think about these 2 sewing machines but they do look perfect for me, thank you again for this great website link !

I have a friend who has the XL603, another who has the 605 and another who has the 607. They all love their machines, and have never had ANY problems with them, so, good luck!
Forgot to add, SMD is Sewing Machines Direct own badged version of Janome. They are similar to the machines used in the TV programme, 'The Great British Sewing Bee'

I know Amazon. had a UK version and I would think a French version as well. I would think you could get it through the UK if France doesn't have one.
