Trying to find out what size motor this machine has (in amps.) Anyone know? It should be written on the back, if you happen to own one. I tried to look it up, but it's not listed in the specs, as far as I can tell.

I don't know your answer, but I do know this thing has power - these machines have step motors too so the actual amps on back on the motor do not tell a story. The 8900 is one cool machine. It sews just grand, and it has everything a person could want. I sewed on one all day in a class at the recent quilt fest and the tension was terrific, the settings weren't difficult and all in all if I was looking for a machine I might have bitten.

The motor size on new machines does not tell the whole story. The way the machine feeds fabric is another thing to consider. I have seen this machine and it is awesome. My guess is that it would sew anything. Have you gone to look at it?
