I have just traced Ottobre 02-2013-3 which is the pattern for 'Buttondown' sleeveless blouse. One piece (the armhole facing) is marked with an asterix * in the pattern pieces list. For the life of me, I can find no reference to it in the magazine. I am guessing it might mean includes seam allowances. Has anyone else come across this??

Sue,

The fine print of the * is hidden in the "cutting" heading. Would have been easier to find had they made it a separate paragraph. The armhole facing includes seam allowances and is to be cut on the bias

Nice top for summer. What fabric are you making it from?

Thank you!! Lucky it is not snake country!

I read all the instructions over and over and would never have seen the * in the middle of the paragraph!!

I actually have two pieces of fabric I want to use for this top - a blue swiss dot voile bought from a designer's scrap sale (Tenghdahl) and a piece of ivory woven bamboo with a texture in the weave. The first picture at the top of this page. bamboo fabric pic

Don't mention snakes. I disturbed a huge brown snake while weeding (down on my hands and knees) - pulled up the clump of grass it was sleeping on - luckily it took of in the other direction. It was SO FAST!!!! I'm still jumping at shadows

Love your choice of fabrics - perfect. I like the weave on the bamboo. Please post a picture when your finished. I'd love to see the finished shirts.

The bamboo shirt version is going to be part of the mini wardrobe contest, so will get reviewed at least (even if I don't get through all pieces as I plan to make it first up). I have muslined the shirt and the only change at this stage is to shorten it as it much longer than it appears. I look forward to following your entry too!
