This the the third and last quilt for my sister's children, this time for my niece. Its not much of a change from the last two, primarily because it uses a jelly roll, and there isn't much you can do with those. However, N#1 got a combination of the strips and the diamonds.

Its very busy, and certainly ..... its VERY pink. I am hoping that the dramatic dark dyed background fabric will offset the very pinkness of the front.

I finished the binding this morning, and tidied up some threads. Now I just need to package it up, and send it off to the girl on Monday.

Those are very lush fabrics and a cute pattern!! I see a great balance between the colors and it does not read PINK to me. I'm curious to know if the diamond is appliqued bc I don't see any seams. She will love it!

The diamonds are done in a weird way, thanks to a youtube link someone put up ... uummmmm .... somewhere..... honestly can't remember where I saw it. They are topstitched down, but I am sorry I didn't do a really close photo.

They are called 10 minute blocks, or sometimes 3 seam blocks, and they are hysterically easy. My sort of quilting. This link is the reason I started quilting, and of course, once I mastered the simple design, I had to branch out and make it complex ..... I imagine thats how most people start with quilting.

The diamonds add such pizzazz to the quilt. Yes it sure is pink. She will love it.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

I wish I were your niece. I love pink, and I think this quilt is just spiffy.

No one in the history of my family ever quilted before me, so no nice aunts to give me something so lovely.

Dat! I love how the diamonds set off the fence rails! You see pink where some of the others colors show in gorgeous tones too and I love the back!

What a great quilt for your niece!

You-tube hooked me on quilting and I may have to begin to make up relatives as there are more patterns than time to make it all lol but that's what Project Linus, or Quilts4Kids are for - If you still want to make quilts and have run out of folks in your family to gift :-) Or animal shelter quilts...

This quilting is so addicting isn't it?

Terrific quilt and I know she'll love it!

Beautiful quilt in delightful colors. I like the back with the front- nice matching contrast. Lucky niece.

LOVE it! I love the 10 minute block also, so versatile and so very easy.

Your quilt looks fantastic!

I love your quilt. I have two nieces and a nephew to make quilts for over the next year or so.

I have a jelly roll for one of the quilts and was looking at my options.

I am sure your niece will lover her quilt.
