Hi
Can someone recommend a good dress pattern for travelling in hot weather? i.e. stretch, easy to wear and easy to make.

I'm wondering whether the Skater Dress but looking for ideas. It can be from any pattern designer

TIA Susan

Cruise Club Kim from Style Arc. Dress it up or dress it down. Lucky you, no international postage.

If the weather turned nippy I'd even try it with a mesh print t worn under the dress - something wild that might not be wearable on its own as a t. :)

Another StyleArc possibility. I'd make it in a black rayon/lycra knit, without the front overpanel (faux wrap), then pack different camisoles (including a lace one), and belts to wear with it. I might even go so far as to sew a sheer wrap skirt that could be tied on over it to to serve as a combination belt and overlay. StyleArc Mia

Loving the ideas. I was looking at the Cruise Club Dress so thanks for the reinforcement and I'm a Style Arc member so that is even better. I already own the Mia pattern and never thought of making it in stretch. Terrific idea!

The very beautiful Barcelona Dress by Textile Studio--cool, floaty, breezy, and packable in knits or light wovens. Take a look at some of the reviews.

IMHO, the best dresses for travel are knit tank dresses made out of thin easy to pack knits. you then pack along cardis, belts and scarves/shawls to regulate temperatures. The dress has to feel comfortable on. solids win my vote for versatility..they can look dressed up or not depending on the other stuff you wear with them.

Agree, now just need to find some nice knits, sometimes that can be a bit of a stretch (pardon of the pun)...
I have heaps of necklaces but not many short sleeved cardis but can see how I can dress it up or down.
