Can't decide how to do this

Hello all. I want to make McCall's pattern 6706 in view d, which is one solid piece of fabric, but in the length of view a, which is two contrasting pieces of fabric. My trouble is deciding how to do that, should I piece together the tissue paper pieces of view a and then proceed to cut them out as one or do I just use tissue paper for view d and then somehow shorten the length? Hope that makes sense.

Patterns will have shorten/lengthen lines so both ideas will work. I would tape them together to avoid having to shorten, sometimes keeping grain lines straight are a pain..

Use the tissue for View D and shorten the length from the bottom. If the hem is curved, use a ruler and dot-mark the same distance from the bottom hemline upward all across the bottom, moving the ruler every inch or so. Then connect the dots for a new curved hemline.

According to the pattern info on the McCall's site, the shorter length is 19" from the waist and the longer View D is 23". So, you need to shorten 4" ... IF the 19" length is good for you.

Okay, will try the shorten the length method for view d. Thank you for the help.
