Perhaps I'm just not using the correct search terms but I can't find the ribbed neck bands you find on t-shirts.

Help, please!

These are specialty items, and very difficult to find nowadays, although back in the heyday of Stretch and Sew Fabrics, they were available.

Currently, people who sew make lovely, lovely neckbands for tees using self-fabric. Here is Sarah Veblen's excellent video showing you how to do that, and how to get the neckband to fit perfectly.

Not many around, at least in colors other than the standard.
I get ribbing for kids T's and PJ's recycled from thrift stores.
Name-brand men's golf shirts are the highest quality, often with small prints or stripes on the collars and sleeves. You can find long-sleeve T's and kiddie leggings at places like Kohl's end of season for sometimes $3-4--cut them up!

Here's another neckband tutorial that requires no measuring. I'm trying this with the next T shirt I make.

I just buy baby rib from fabric.com. Have you checked there for ribbed knits?
