Can you buy this anywhere, anymore? I can't find it but I only have access to Fabricland stores. They only have the chalk paper, which I do not like at all.

I think you mean the waxy colored paper for marking darts etc.? No, I don't think they make it anymore. You're right, that chalky paper they sell at Fabricland does absolutely nothing, as far as I can tell.

The closest thing I've found to the old kind of tracing paper is THIS paper from Clover / Chacopay. I had it ordered in by a fabric store in town that sells quilting cottons. I don't think Fabricland could/would order it in (they only deal with certain suppliers).

It wasn't very expensive, as I recall. I got a couple of packages at the same time, since I didn't want to have to ask them to reorder it for a while.

I'm racking my brain - or is is wracking?- trying to think if I saw any last time I was on Queen Street in Toronto, but I can't remember seeing any. I got mine at SIL in New York City. Apparently I should have purchased more - I use it all the time!!

Wawak has some that could work Tracing paper at Wawak except they don't ship to Canada. (I live close enough to the border to get it shipped to a US address)

I did find this while searching .. (I don't know anything about her so you may want to see if anyone else has purchased from her)
a Fashionable Stitch

I know that doesn't help a whole lot!

Not in Ontario, but I have found it in thrift shops and buy every package I find.

Just check the A Great Notion catalogue that arrived in yesterdays mail. They have two types of tracing paper including the Chacopy tracing paper on page 35 of the catalogue.

A Great Notion is a BC company, so you will not have to worry about paying duty.

Thanks to all of you. It occurs to me now to check the local Michaels, Walmart and quilting shops and if none of them have it I can order from the place in the last post, the one in B.C.

It's so long ago since I bought this stuff the package it originally came in fell apart and I lost the brand name of it.

Hi,
I just checked with Richard the Thread, and although their site says the paper is $11.85 for 3 sheets and there is a minimum order of $35.00, I called and checked and found that if you CALL IN YOUR ORDER, and tell them you are with Craftsy, they will waive the minimum order, so you can get as many or few sheets as you wish. I also asked if they ship to Canada, and they said YES. So, try calling them. They cannot override the price if you order via the website.
Good luck,
Judy

I read it as $11.85 per sheet -- 3 sheet minimum, since each separate color is listed as $11.85. Not sure which is correct. Either way, not sure what their shipping would be to Canada, but this could get pricy. Not sure if the OP cares... Just sayin'.

I just bought a sheet of light blue Super Chacopaper at Michaels and it was $11.99 for one 17" x 11" sheet. It came in blue or white. Since I can't find any tracing paper and Michaels is not normally on my driving path I thought I'd better buy it. It is a chalky stuff but not the same as what they call chalk.

Apparently there is Chaco paper in wax, chalk and then this super Chacopaper. And apparently in super chacopaper there is erasable and disappearing and I can't figure out what the difference is but it sounds like both vanish from you fabric after about a week of tracing so you need to sew anything you mark in a week.

I emailed the store in B.C. and they say the stuff on their website is waxed but darned if I can tell that on my own by looking at the image of it on their site.
