The new features on the 880 are cool but not cool enough to make me trade my 830LE and pay thousands of dollars difference.

I agree with Patricia. I won't be trading my 830 in. What interests me the most is the shaping feature in embroidery. Thanks for the sneak peek!

Nothing yet on that, other than they're not being released until 2014. I do have the V7 software sneak peek.

Thanks! The 560 looks super, like a very upgraded 640. I'm not familiar enough with the 730 to compare it. I wonder what they consider "affordable", lol. Looks like a great machine for garment sewists. I know some prefer the 5.5mm stitch width machines for garment sewing, but plenty prefer the 9mm. I wonder about the feed. So many 640 owners have raved about the feed. The 560 sure fits a hole in the Bernina line-up, since not everyone wants the bigger size of the 7 series, and the 580 is bundled with the embroidery unit in the US. So there wasn't a "normal-sized" 9mm embroidery-optional machine in current production.

I'm not really in the market, I'm actually rehoming machines right now, but some people follow sports, some keep up of celebrity gossip, I follow sewing machines. I do have a tragically unused 440 (the luxurious 630 has usurped it) for a trade-in, if something irresistible comes along. But nothing too pricey, as tuition is sucking up all my fun money, and I'm back to the daily school commute (apparently 9 miles one way is too far for grammar school kids to walk, go figure).

🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸

I do plan to update my V.6 software to version 7. When is it supposed to be released?

That 880 looks pretty darn cool, but after all the 7 series woes I wouldn't dare.

The extra few feet and barbie wardrobe are cool additions to the 560 over the 530.

Thanks for sharing this, Lynn. Interesting to see what's new. However, I won't buy another bernina until they include dual feed for at least the 5-series (and preferably lower) and improve the automatic buttonhole function to match the pfaff automatic buttonhole that works well on collarbands. I'd trade in my 550 for those features!
