My Ellisimo has been doing better, with a change in needle it has been working some, but in the beginning when it starts a design the needle seems to clack in the bobbin a few times then it starts and makes the rest of the design. It makes a thread nest in the beginning of the design. Also the thread can shred once or twice in a design. Can somebody help with what is going on? I have cleaned the bobbin case, threaded the path with floss, changed needles changed stabilizers and done a few other things recommended on several boards.Thank You

Time for the dealer to service the machine. It could be thread jammed in the thread path where you do not have access to.

That's about all since you did not mention the other steps you have taken, such as looking for a burr on the needle plate, which may be something you have already checked.

I'm not familiar with your embroidery machine. When I start to embroider,I hold on to the top embroidery thread tail end sticking out of the embroidery needle for maybe two seconds.Your machine is more sophisticated than my older embroidery machine,it doesn't cut threads automatically.

You dealer can adjust the automatic thread cutter,if it is the cause of thread nests.Or you may want to try what I do first, hold on to the embroidery thread tail end and see if that eliminates the thread nests.

It is only in the beginning of a design.Today I noticed if I make 2 designs one after the other it will not do it the 2nd time.Maybe I am not putting in the bobbin right ?

Before you begin sewing make sure the thread is actually in the tension discs. Check this by putting down the presser foot and pulling the thread at the needle; if it still flows through easily it is not in the tension discs correctly. If in correctly it will not move through the needle when the presser foot down. I actually had this happen to me tonight when I was embroidering and my top threads were loose. I rethreaded but did not check this and it still was messy. Then I checked with the presser foot down and the thread was flowing easily which meant it was not in the tension discs correctly.

Personally, I think you really should bring it in to your dealer. Those are not really normal issues with the Ellisimo. I've never heard any clacking on my machine and I've also never had any thread nests. Something is definitely not right and I highly doubt it is user error. If there is a part that is broke or damaged, I would hate for you to do any further damage to the machine. From what you have said, you've tried a lot of different options (all good ones at that!) and the problem does not seem to be solved.

Definitely bring your machine to your dealer.

You are right.something is wrong with it.Last time I took it they just changed the needle. Now it is back to completely jammed up. I am getting fed up of it already as it has eaten up many of my T shirts .I just have the worst luck with machines I think

Have you discussed taking lessons from the dealer. It is odd for a TOL Babylock to have issues such as you are experiencing.

The right needle, the right design, the right stabilizer, hoop or not to hoop.... all affect the outcome of the project.

Have you taken in the embroidery(s) with the problem and show the dealer.

Are you winding your own bobbins? or using pre wounds?

Has the dealer sat with you supposedly after the machine has been repaired and stitched out a design?

Does the machine sew well when it's not in embroidery mode?

Have you wound bobbins with the spool of Finishing Touch bobbin thread that comes with the machine (look for it in your accessories packet)?

Are you using a 90/14 needle?

Is the machine and bobbin threaded correctly? check again. Sometimes we think we are threading correctly, but we are not.

Just some ideas ---- more----

Take the machine to the dealers one more time, and don't leave there with it until they have sewn and embroidered with it. Sit there and watch. Take notes.

If there is nothing wrong with the machine, then it's user error, and they should also determine what it is you are doing wrong.

Read your Users manual. Keep it out by your machine.

Good Luck!

Hi!
I had the same problem with my Elissimo. The problem I had was that the bobbin case had a mico nick in it. I couln't see it. Dealer had to show me with a magnifer glass. Bought new bobbin case $40.00 and the problem was solved.
