I wasn't sure if i should post this in the Pattern Sales thread or not. I'm posting it here because the sale is only at a Los Angeles store.

I wandered into F & S Fabrics today on Pico & Manning and noticed they've got one drawer of OOP Vogues on sale for $1 or $2. Thought you might find something you like, at that price. There were quite a few OOP Marcy Tiltons, a few Issey Miyake, a Rachel Comey. I bought a Chado blouse pattern. They also had a couple of drawers of OOP McCalls at 75% off but that's still more than the Jo Ann's sale price. I don't know how long they will be on sale, I hope it's until they're all gone.

They're teaching sewing classes there now. There's a nice classroom back there for it. Here is their address:
10629 West Pico Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90064

Oh bummer Karen, sorry! I never look at patterns there, but I guess I noticed because they moved their patterns to where I'm not used to seeing them.

Kemish are you near LA? I had a notion you were pretty far away in CA. I don't know if you know of this already, but there is a newsstand called Century World News one block East of F & S and that is where I get my Burdas. I think you are a subscriber so you wouldn't be interested in those, but they also have My Image and one copy of Modellina at the moment. Thought I'd let you know in case you were coming from far away and there were no good Vogues left. I'm surprised F & S is selling Burda (the magazine) now!

Wow. I had no idea they sold single issue Burdas. I'm on the other side of LA - I'm an eastsider (aka east LA). It does, at times, feel like I am in another county and far, far away! LOL! Not too fashionable location, but it is where I call home. I, do, try and get to the Fashion District as much as I can. I have been eager to visit the FIDM costume display (Emmy nominated costumes) but so far 'life' has got in the way!

East LA, that's not that far! Oh do try and go see the FIDM exhibit! They have Downton Abbey costumes: Edith and Mary's wedding dresses are there, and some of the other dresses the family wore at the weddings. There's one that Sybil wore to Edith's wedding that has a lace overdress over red and I can't figure out how the lace was made. I don't watch Game of Thrones but the costumes are beautiful. I was so disappointed there weren't any costumes from Once Upon a Time this year though! There's a room in the back for costumes they're thinking of acquiring and currently they have dresses from the 1920s that have such gorgeous, fine, allover beading on them. I was thinking, are those hand-beaded? But, definitely have a look!
