Hello! I just picked up a Bernina 350PE yesterday from my dealer that is used (2 years old). Everything worked well in the shop but last night at home I noticed a faint high-pitched whine as soon as I turned it on that was constant until I turned it off. It seems to maybe be coming from the LED lights? Is this something that is an issue with all Berninas or are some silent? Can it be repaired? Just wondering if I would trade it in for a new one would I have the same issue? Thank you for any input!

It isn't on- that's more of a buzz, this sound is like a high-pitched background noise.

It's probably the same type of sound my 550QE had. It bothered me enough that I sold it. It is usually attributed to the LED lights.

Karen, do you know if it's a fixable issue? I think I can get used to it if I have to because I love the machine otherwise, but if I can get one without it that would be nice.

There were other models that had a whine, and this was supposedly fixed with a firmware update. I'd check with the dealer to see if one is available.

I did a firmware update on mine but the noise was still enough to bother me. It's just the way a lot of today's computerized machines are. My Viking has a lower hum and not annoying like the Bernina was.

My previous B750 had a whine that would come and go, not sure why. I ended up returning it, it had several issues. I now have another B750 that is working perfect and has no whine.

The whine on some of the 7 series is due to needing a circuit board replaced...could be the same with the 350.

Does the sound change or go away if you change stitch length or needle position?
