Subject: choosing a pattern Date: 9/14/13 9:51 AM

Hi Kenneth,

I'm looking forward to taking this class. I always learn so much from you and you do encourage me to explore different options and ideas.

Because I'm thicker thru the waist, is there another pattern that would be suitable? I don't think a peplum would be very flattering on me. Also, I need sleeves. I was thinking that I could add them with a knit fabric if leather sleeves would be too cumbersome.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Ginger S.

You could choose a simple blouse with sleeve if you choose. We chose this as a project but the information applies for other garments as well.

Subject: wondering about expiration dates Date: 9/21/13 6:28 PM

Hello,

Just wondering if this video/message board/class support expires after a certain period of time, or does it work like the Craftsy classes which never expire?

My understanding is that it goes on always, but ask Deepika to be sure...

Hi,

This is a video class which means it will never expire.

Hi Kenneth- did I miss it in the class description or is there a supplies list we can see before we register?

I believe the supplies list comes with registration--Deepika will know the answer to that...

Hi Markie,

Here's the supply list. More information is available in the PDF document when you register. Remember, even if you can't gather the supplies before you sign up, this class never expires so you can gather them later. In fact Kenneth goes into depth about the tools and tips in the class so you may even want to wait.

Class Supply List
-------------------

- Roughly 2 square feet of leather ó this should be a light to medium weight.
A good resource, if you donít have a leather store nearby, is to buy an
old leather coat or jacket.

- 1 spool buttonhole, or topstitching thread, polyester, Gutermann is
a good choice.

- 1 packet size 14 machine needles, topstitching or embroidery, Schmetz
is a good choice

- 1 roll, Scotch permanent double sided tape

- 1 rubber or plastic mallet

- 1 "seam stick" (wood pressing tool), or length of wood closet or railing dowel

- 1 small container, contact cement, Weldwood brand is good and can be
bought at the hardware store

- Q-tips for spreading the contact cement

Please refer to the PDF document for a complete supply list. The leather listed above is only for practicing different
seams and darts. If you are making the peplum top, you will need more leather for that. You'll also need lining fabric
and an invisible zipper.

Will you be giving us leather suppliers both wholesale and retail?

I don't believe there's a list, as we have the internet now. I use Leather Impact in New York for leather, and Tandy Leather for supplies...
