I loaded the embird trial version because I always like to test drive anything I buy, software or hardware, if I can. Perhaps (and quite likely) I am simply doing something wrong, but the trial version seems so limited that it's almost useless. There seem to be only a handful of image files I can access, and I can't download the full help/tutorials without a registered copy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The trial download does state limited availability.

Many people swear by this product. I did the trial a long time ago and it did seem pretty easy to use. I did not buy it because I already had plenty of software and was just curious.

I have PE Design and Designers Gallery, which are fairly expensive for non-pro software. Both were gifts. If I were spending my own money, I would have gone with Embird.

I am sure there will be more comments on this product.

I ended up buying Embird and have not regretted it at all. I did the demo years ago, but I do recall being disappointed by the limitations. The software does so much more than it lets on in its demo form. Personally, I think they should open up the demo more and let people experience more of its potential.

Then, e-mails were written on paper and put in weird paper things called envelopes and the postal system delivered them. This was slow. Finally, e-mail as we know it came around."

Another option is to watch YT tutorials- folks using every aspect of the full version. That may help you judge it better. Not the company ones, but regular people doing things with it.

I have been testing Embird too due to losing my dongle and Bernina telling me too bad for me!! I can't seem to save to CD with the trial which is annoying.

I found a site with great inexpensive tutorials and have seen some on Youtube. I also love free demo SewArt for auto digitizing of jpegs - plus it's even cheaper than Embird. I think I will buy both as they are a fraction of the cost of Bernina and Embird is just as good. Visit Stitches in Motion for easy and well priced Embrid tutorials. This is the lowest price that I have found.
