If you live anywhere near the DFW (TX) area and want to get comfortable with the versatility of your serger, you HAVE to sign up for the two-day serger workshop offered by Sewing World of Grapevine. A friend and I completed it over the weekend and are just plain tickled with all the useful information. There were only six of us, so we had lots of one-on-one attention. Each brought her own machine (and we had variety). Came away with a 3-ring binder filled with samples we made and instructions/notes for each stitch (all done with the basic presser foot). What an awesome resource! Although we live within driving distance, we treated ourselves to a hotel overnight. Because we all want to progress to using different feet, we talked the instructor into offering a class for that next month. Craftsy is great, but there is something really powerful about hands-on learning. (I'm not affiliated with SWOG. Just super impressed with the affordable, quality classes there.)

I love those types of class when you come away with lots of new information and had a good time learning not to mention spending time with good friends.

Thank you for the information. I live in the Tyler area and would love to take advantage of this class.

The Hilton Garden in (Grapevine) is pretty nice! They have an indoor saltwater pool and beds with adjustable firmness. :)
