This pattern looks great, but wonder if it could be modified easily to be a faux wrap to avoid any accidental openings?

You could certainly tack it down at the neckline/side if you wanted to, but you'd probably have to leave some of the front skirt wrap open, otherwise you couldn't walk easily.

Sunshine, if you extend the underlap side of the skirt to reach the side seam near the waist, you can stitch it into the side seam. You'll have to experiment with how much to include in the seam and how much to leave free to get the effect you want while preserving the ability to move in the dress.
