I live in sweatpants in the winter. I walk the dog in them and even wear them to work. I was buying them at Walmart, Hanes I think, really cheap but after a few washings the inside starts getting scratchy. I can not stand anything scratchy! I need a petite length too. Does anyone know on line where I can get soft sweatpants that stay soft?

We just saw some Nike sweatpants at Academy Sports, which looked like a crop length, and the inside fabric was a French terry. They look like they would be very comfortable. I did not look at the price though.

I've been looking everywhere on line and can't find any petite ones except LL Bean for $45 which I think is ridiculous! I am now considering making them. Where can I find the fabric that doesn't pill or get scratchy?

Try Kohls, they have some, I used to buy them at Pennys for my aunt, but they don't show any online.
Check retailmenot.com for coupon codes and free shipping at Kohls. You can return stuff to the store.
Nice cotton or cotton poly fleece is hard to find. If you didn't mind hemming you might look at men or boys.

I forgot to pack warm pajamas for a trip last year....ran into Walgreens and bought some very (!) warm, thick sweats....they are too warm for FL but I keep on hand. I don't really like all that weight when slouching around, instead wearing yoga pants/tennis pants which are a finer knit. Even then, don't like to wear them around town....

Making some nice pants in ponte might give you the comfort but a bit more finished fabric for work, just an idea.

Do you have Target stores in your area? Their clothing is usually decent quality and they even have an athletic/work-out department in their stores and online. I have had good luck with the Champion brand (a division of Hanes).

I recently bought some in the petite department but took them back. They shrank literally 4 inches in length and were high waters!

Try yoga pants, too. I have a pair I got at 6pm.com that are better then anything else I have got.
