My daughter fell in love with this coat.

I'm looking for a starting point to replicate it. Any pattern suggestion? I love it too!

Ooh she has great taste!! That's not much help though!

Looking through my pattern collection I see these...

McCalls 5759 has a similar collar.

or Vogue 8123

Love that coat...it reminded me of this. This would give you the off-centered closure, the hood, and the vest-like shaping. It might work!

Yes, the lines are there but it's not made for wovens. Interesting, however.

I think it's a tough one; I've checked Marfy and Vogue but I'm not seeing anything close enough. I like the darts in the front.

Check out the oct burda preview! I think the 2nd one down might be pretty darn close for the shoulder darts. Thread on Burda preview

I think Vogue 1637, a vintage Dior pattern, would fit the bill with very little tweaking. There are several available on ebay and etsy (in fact, the etsy vendors seem to have slightly better prices).

Hope this helps. :)

How about Butterick 5820:
http://images.patternreview.com/sewing/patterns/butterick/5820/5820.jpg

It has the hood and patch pocket, not the dart at the shoulder, but, just a tiny tuck would fix that. View C is made in all one piece, and you could just put a button closure instead of a zipper and eliminate the waist detail. The recommended fabric for this is Sweatshirting, Double knits, Single-sided fleece, and Berber, but you could make a trial run with a heavy wool, or find a double knit like the fashion fabric.

------
height 5'2" bust 36, waist 31, hip 39.
I have way too many yards to count, and I will never use them up, but I will die trying!
