Honestly! Only 1 major update, and then you DUMPED us!
It was sold to us as updatable for years.

Yes I understand you want us to buy the major upgrade, but it was a MAJOR investment for me to get this machine.

So, if you aren't going to update it at all, how about making the accessories cheaper? Or making some of the other software for it cheaper?

Gee whiz.

Hi, I have the 10001 and I have been told that Janome generally does not keep offering updates for their machines. Babylock and brother both seem to do give updates for their machines so the only thing I can think of is just wanting continual upgrading. I agree not everyone can or wants to keep paying for these fancy machines.

Janome is not the only source of software for these machines. Embird works great on it and is much cheaper than anything Janome sells.

I have the 10001 also and was upset 2 years after I got mine they came out with a whole new machine. But they discontinue the 10001 one a while ago and have brought out 4 new machines since then.

It's all a racket to make us want the newest, latest, greatest, more bells and whistles. They just want our money. I wonder how long it's going to be before they price most of us right out of upgrading? I refuse to finance a sewing machine. If I can't pay cash, I don't get it until I have money in hand. Lets face it, we are all drooling over the new machines this time every year. I'm machined out..... I have way too many as it is. I can only sew on one at a time, Embroidery not withstanding, plus I'm running out of space!

Well, on the positive side--the Janome combos seem to keep doing what they do for a couple of decades and longer. I know people who are still using the 8000! They do go the distance and don't require a lot of repairs along the way so you kinda get your $$'s worth in that sense.

This is true I've had my 10001 since Jan of 04, will be 10 years old this Jan and still going strong. I've loved this machine. And even though I've had machine lust. Until this machine dies it will be the only one I will ever need. Only I would love a bigger embroidery field for quilting stippling designs. I'm not real good at free motion quilting and will never have a long arm. So embroidery machine stippling is my way of cheating. But I'm making the 5 x 7 field work for now.

I bought my 10000 on ebay . Had no idea how old it was. I used it for 8 years until I traded it in to get a Horizon 7700 and a 350e. It was a great machine but I figured out that I really need separate machines. I'm too impatient to wait for an embroidery stitchout when I could be sewing at the same time. The great news was that I got almost as much $$ in trade as I paid for it.
