I was all excited when Craftsy sent me an email for 75% offa classes and supplies. I went to their site, checked out the 43 classes "on sale" and haven't found one that's 75% off. Am I the only one who feels this is misleading advertising? Got all excited about "sale" classes to only see minor deductions.

Here's the link to the promo. Feels like a bait and switch to me.

Ah, I see the problem.

Up to 75% off of classes and supplies

Which means that somewhere in that bunch of sale classes is at least one class, that, when you add up the cost of the class and the supplies, the price is 75% off.

That's how I interpret this bit of advertising-ese.

Technically that is correct.
But does it feel "right?"

They've been filling my inbox with this 75% nonsense (upon careful reading....) just feels wrong. Like they are tricking customers.

I suppose it's kind of sneaky, but it's also a fairly common way of wording ads and offers, the goal being to get the attention of the reader.

I don't get emails from Craftsy, but I do get these kinds of email come-ons from other vendors, and I've learned to read them closely. "Buy a bottle of vitamins and get the second one for half price!" came from, lets call them Online-Vitamins-Vendor. The fine print on that offer was that it applied only to the House Brand (Online-Vitamins brand), not the other name brands of vitamins O-V-V sold. When I re-read the offer more attentively, that is exactly what the offer said; it was me who jumped to conclusions.

Did you find any Craftsy sale classes that appeal to you?

Yes I did find one class....20% off. Sigh. I normally don't sucker for things like this. If I could have even seen some classes in the sewing sale that were 75% off I wouldn't have been so miffed. But there were none. As I say...bait and switch. Oh well. Thanks CM.

Yes, I was disappointed as I am a Craftsy junkie, however I knew before I clicked the link that it wasn't going to be true.
It wasn't so bad as I haven't any classes that I am yearning to take right now as I have already taken them.

I saw one class for $9.99 but I already own it. Seems like the only ones under $25 I already have. Still....I bought 3 more. They used to be regular price $39.99 and were frequently $19.99-24.99 (or) less, but now they have jumped to $49.99 regular price. Will not pay that much. Yes, I know $50 is a bargain price for a class, but when you buy frequently, it just gets too pricey, especially since they are constantly coming out with new classes I want. It is as addictive as buying fabric. I've already told my oldest DD, I'm leaving her my account in my will.

at dailycrafttv.com i found several sewing classes that i liked. i took the core sewing class for $9.99 and learned a thing or two. reasonably priced. m going to take the jacket fitting class soon. like the instructor. these classes are more reasonable than craftsy.
