Im super happy with the results so far. I will try to finish the border later tonight or in the AM. I used the leftover parts of one quilt - and made all of these strings from scraps.

I quilted it with red thread.

I think that by now I would know one of your quilts anywhere. This one is just lovely - the colors are wonderful, and the stringiness is just charming. I am making string quilt blocks myself, and they are so much fun.

The scraps I had left over from the other quilt were really .. bountiful.

If I would have done some math and had the idea - I would have used the small 3 inch strips (same as the border but 3 inch) around the inside to separate the geese from the center. I know I would have loved it.

But - did not know I had them till MUCH too late. Ive been wanting to make some medallion style quilts. I think that is why I have the desire to have that secondary inside border.

But - I have a bunch of strings left over I think Im going to try my hand at a very simple modern'ish quilt with the leftovers.

Im working on it now. If I end up with anything Ill post it later.

Strings are so fun. I love the poverty patch strings, too. I call them that anyhow - the ones that are not long enough and I have to sew a few pieces together to get the length.

This is really cool. It could be called busy...but it's not distracting at all. My eyes can look at it for a long time.

Ive been in different places - one time I was in three places at the same time. But, I often would need to go into the shop and pick up quilts because I sell them online myself most often.

Ive tried to sell things on Etsy. But, never had had any luck. There is a sea of quilts on that site and I cant find ways to get mine found.

Different groups of people Ive been part of (like this site, Fiesta collectors, family, friends, local people and people around the world) have contacted me about quilts. Ive traded quilts for the most wonderful things.

Ive prob had the most luck selling things via my contacts on facebook. The networking and ease of sharing with wide groups of people prob helps.

I did just start a new page on facebook - it is dedicated to just quilting and sewing talk. Its just me, posting pics and talking with people who Ive met through facebook. I had always used my personal site to do all the work. But, I like to talk about fart jokes and gross things I know not everyone who wants to chat about quits is interested in. No drag queen stuff or politics. Just quilts. So, I asked my friends who want to chat quilts and avoid fart jokes to switch over. Check it out if you like.

My Webpage

I find it is so easy to load pics to facebook. I can do it in one step. Where to post lots of pics here, I have to load them to a host and re-size, cut and paste ..

I love the connection with other quilters on this site. Of all the sites Ive tried to find groups of people to chat with about quilts this one is the best.

Do I hear you about strings! One of my all time favorite quilts was done with a Bonnie Hunter pattern, Diamond in a Square Strings, but I wanted my base to be darker than her all white muslin type. What turned out when I finished, I hung in a quilt show. And I'm very happy with it. Click here as it's on a guest pass

Had it not been for Bonnie and her crazy way of encouragement, I would not have gone this far.
