I love, LOVE Cake Patterns and I'm so excited for this new collection that Steph has released. The collection includes a knit dress with several variations, a customizable leggings pattern, a clutch purse in two sizes, a shrug pattern, and a jacket pattern with a shrug variation. The last two aren't up for sale yet, but the other three are ready to go.

Keep an eye out for the last two patterns to be released and for the sewalong that she has coming up for the dress pattern. I know Steph has some awesome surprises (and prizes!) in store, so definitely pay attention.

Check out her blog post about these new patterns or etsy to buy them.

Love love love the new collection. I am anxiously waiting for that knit jacket. I have been searching for a pattern for knits for years. By the way we also sell Cake patterns on PatternReview.com

I'm excited for the shrug variation of the jacket. Like the jacket's nice, but having what I would consider to be the perfect shrug design included with it makes me happy. Yay for having both! And I have this awesome red plaid knit that's been sitting in my stash for months now, waiting for the dress pattern to be released.

I like it, and I like the shrugs. I really like the pleats in the skirt. I'd prefer the dress to have set in sleeves, but I'm keen to see how it looks all made up by a few seamstresses. It looks like it'd make a really nice double-knit or sweater knit dress for fall.

I've been waiting for this collection to be released. I love my Tiramisu dress--the sizing worked well for me--but would love to have a dress with similar sizing that I don't need to wear a cami under. I will definitely give the dress a try--it looks like such a cute TNT-potential knit dress.

Shrugs don't work well for my full-busted figure, but I think that the knit jacket is really cute, and I could see myself sewing that one up in several colors.

The pattern that REALLY intrigues me is the espresso/custom-fit leggings. I'm short with short legs and full calves that cut in really quickly to small ankles, and for this reason, have never tried to make my own leggings. I really want to give this pattern a try and see if it will solve my legging/fit issues.

The clutch is cute with the pleat detail.

Are you sure we aren't twins???

I love that dress. I think the neckline might be a bit high on me but that is easily adjusted. And when is the knit jacket going to be for sale....MUST HAVE!

eta...I see now there is a version of the dress with a more scoop neck! Awesome!

That new knit dress is really cute.

So, is there a figure type you would say these patterns work for with the fewest adjustments? I love that Hummingbird skirt & top, and am wondering how much work it would be for me. I suspect the skirt might be okay but the top would be major work.

The wondrous thing about Cake is that Steph's sizing is genius. It's probably the most customizable sizing that I've ever encountered in sewing patterns. Like the Hummingbird skirt basically has cup sizes for your butt to take into account different hip to waist ratios. With Red Velvet, like the Tiramisu, I believe Steph is utilizing cup sizes.

Oops, I think my fangirl is showing...

To answer your question, Cake works for most body types. Because the sizing is so customizable and they're mostly for knitwear, they're pretty easy to fit.

Brilliant! What a great idea. I'm scared to think what mine might be though
