Hi all,

It's that time of year... starting to think about Christmas presents.

2 years ago, I sewed everyone on my list a pair of flannel PJ pants. They were a HUGE hit, everyone loved them and I have since gotten requests for more pairs.

But that's been done, so now I'm trying to think of something else that might be a good, fairly easy project to give for gifts this year.

Anyone have any brilliant ideas????

I make the family jammie pants for Xmas eve. My stepson comes over that night for his presents, so the other kids get something since the 2 year old doesn't understand it and she doesn't understand why Mom and Dad don't get anything.

This year, I'll make my teenage son his at Thanksgiving since he'll be at his Dad's for Xmas. He's at the point he thinks they're stupid, but God forbid he doesn't get his pair.

As to ideas...reusable grocery bags or fabric baskets.

There is a thread in Sew Alongs - Starting Christmas Early, might want to check that out.

In past years, aprons, Christmas stockings, and table runners have been happy gifts to sew and give.

For weddings I do a- door panal. place mats,x-mas wall hangings.and a advent calander. or a small christmas tree skirt.also in november Good will has ornaments and things from the major stores. good luck

I don't know - if the pj pants were a big hit, why not give the public what they want? If they've asked for more, seems like you have a hit on your hands. You could start a tradition.

There is already a similar thread started back in March this year titled, Starting Christmas sewing early? There are already five pgs. of excellent gift suggestions. If you do a search on the BOARDS using the exact wording of the bolded title, the above thread will populate. Click on it to take a look at some great suggestions.

Moderator: Is there a way to combine these two topics to avoid repetition?

One year I made his and her aprons, another year neck roll pillows and sleep masks. My traveling friends love them, my son in law travels for work he whips out his pillow and goes to sleep. His co workers are jealous. I have also made luggage tags and document holders. Slippers, and bath sheets appliquéd with the recipient's initials.
This year will be grocery bags, embellished hand towels, and placemats and napkins.
