So in this issue there is an article by Carrie Payne about her art girl quilts. If you have a chance take time to read it. She does these adorable 12 X 20 quilts that feature a girl as the star of the quilt. I am so inspired by the concept that I am thinking of making one as a wall hanging for my daughter's walk in closet. I am going to pattern the girl after a pic of my daughter taken recently of her as a bridesmaid because the sillouette would be perfect.

I just read this article yesterday. I think it is a great project.
I wish there were more threads on PR about these types (and other types) of art quilts. I am always looking for inspiration for projects that are different. Perhaps have even a separate heading on the boards for Art Quilts. (I always check the "Creative Sewing" heading but haven't found what I'm looking for there.)
In the same issue of AQS, I also enjoyed the write up on Jacquie Gehring and the new feature that takes you through the artist's process.
