I presently have a Baby Lock Eclipse BBE1DX and am looking to purchase a stand alone cover stitch machine some time in the future. However, I would very much like to upgrade my Eclipse to a Baby Lock Desire BLE5-2 or maybe a Juki MO 735.
I'd like a 5 thread machine for the safety stitch option and also one which will serve as a cover stitch machine while I save my pennies for the stand alone CS.
Does anyone have a preference for either machine?

I have the juki 735. I have used it for serging, rolled hem and coverstitch. There was a thread about it awhile back. It is a solid machine with a lot of resources out there. It is almost identical to the bernina 1350. There are some good videos for that machine. Also I think it is allbrands or sewing machines plus that has the dealer training manual online-soo cool. I don't know anything about babylock desire, but juki 735 is a good machine in my opinion. Check out the thread on this site about it under the search feature.
Good luck whatever you decide
