Hi I have tried to sew the neckband of view b of 8636 and am unable to get a neat finish.
The neckband is fitted by adding darts, on the wrong side, at the same point as the raglan sleeve seam line.
On the packet photo the sit nice and flat and line up perfectly with the sleeve seam. Mine do not.
I have given up and sewn the darts on the right side as others have done, but would prefer the plain look of B if possible. Any tips.

Can you fold the fabric and neckband along that same seam line? That should create the dart you need in the neckband. I made view D with the exterior darts but it's the same concept.

Thanks Patti. Sorry for being so tardy. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to sit nicely. Maybe the light knit was the problem. I sewed the other version with the gathers on the outside and called it a day.

Sometimes, the more you handle a fabric the more likely it is to stretch.

This can be checked by placing it on the pattern to see if it needs to be eased back into shape.
