Not that I need anything right now, but has anyone bit? The first was a great jacket/blazer, the second didn't make an impression on me, so I don't remember it, and this month it's a pair of skinny jeans. The $29.99 kit includes the PDF pattern, a tutorial, technique video, styling guides, and a 10% off coupon for fabric from Mood. When I have some discretionary income I might consider it, if the kit is for something spectacular. Just wondering, for those who invested, what did you think?

This month's is the first that tempts me - I really like the feel of pants and skirts without a waistband. Unfortunately, the pattern only goes up to a 44 and I'm closer to a 46-48.

The price seems a little high unless the tutorials are just spectacular - you can get a craftsy course for the same price range.

I bought the peplum jacket kit and was severely disappointed. The PDF tutorial is not much better than the standard instructions, didn't show some of the trickier steps and left out half the lining. The two video tutorials are fine, but not worth $30, and the styling guide is a joke. I guess if you had a lot of fabric that you wanted to buy from Mood then the coupon might be worth it.
I can't speak for this kit, but that one was just terrible, I demanded a refund.

Thank you both. I think I will stick with Craftsy, as I like their class format, and anyway, I probably have enough classes now to keep me occupied until retirement!

Rhey, thanks for your feedback; that's what I feared as I've never been impressed with the features that are original to the Burda Style website (as opposed to stuff that came from the magazine).

If they are aiming these at new sewers, maybe they should think about adding the fabric and notions - maybe a choice or two of fabric from Mood? That way you'd get the whole package and a 30 buck price would seem a lot more reasonable.

Yeah, I completely lost interest when I found out the supposed kit did not contain fabric.

I purchased a Burda "class" and was disappointed. Not worth the money at all, so I would expect the same from the kits, unfortunately. And, after sending an email to them, Burda, from their website, I will have not heard at all from them. Unfortuantely....

Does anyone know how I can get just the pattern for this month's pants? I love the cut, but can't find it on the website.

The search on the website works quite well, all I had to do was type "pencil trousers" and here you go: pencil trousers.

In addition, the pattern can be found in Burdastyle magazine 3 2013.
