Hello Everyone:
I purchased a Bernina 350PE about a year ago. Long story short, it didn't work out of the box and I had lots of trouble with the dealer. They finally switched it out for a new machine, but did not return the power cord. I gave up on the dealer and have been looking to purchase a replacement cord but I can't find one anywhere, online or locally. I have a brand new machine but I can't use it-so frustrating! Does anyone know where I can find a replacement? Thanks in advance!

Call any Bernina dealer for a power cord OR contact Bernina and let them know what happened. Maybe they can get a power cord to you. Plus, it will alert them to a bad dealer.

These same power cords are used on other brands of machines too. Take a picture of your receptacle and try another sewing store. It is black, about 3/4 of an inch long and had a square end and a rounded end. Cord itself is about 5-6 feet long.
A sewing store that has a tech certified to repair multi brands of machines would have one and the cost is about $12.00 give or take for your area!

I may not be any help, because I would bug that dealer every day until they gave me a cord. That is crazy!! I'd be writing to bernina everyday and commenting on their Facebook page. It may not be much money, but it's the principle of the matter! They owe you a cord!!

Wow! Terrible service. I buy those cords from what used to be Radio Shack, now The Source. I don't know if you have one of those close to you. It is a Panasonic cord and is very common for all kinds of electronics.

It's partly my fault - when I got the replacement machine, I put it in a corner and continued sewing on another of my machines because I just didn't want to deal with the Bernina as my original experience with it had been so frustrating. I didn't realize the cord was missing until I set it up again months later, and I just didn't want to deal with the same people again. The owner of the store where I bought the machine was actually quite awesome, but was having trouble with some of her staff - once I reached her, she just replaced the machine right away, no questions asked, so I don't want to trash her reputation. I'm sure the missing cord was just an oversight, but I didn't have the energy to deal with the same repair people again, especially after so much time had passed. Good news is, this morning I found another dealer who has a cord for me for just a few bucks, so I'm all set!

I haven't had any luck contacting Bernina. I've tried a couple of times via email through their web site, and I get robo-emails back, but I've never had a response from an actual person. Fortunately, I found another dealer who has been awesome and is taking good care of me. I don't think I'll buy Bernina again - I had a much better experience with my Viking.

Thanks! I thought about that, but I was afraid a generic cord would void the warranty. It's a brand new machine, and since I had trouble with the first one I want to make sure I can get this one fixed under warranty if I have any problems with it.

When they sew good Berninas are a wonderful experience. I too had a frustrating time with my first one in 2005. And the dealer. After quite a few months of tears I left mine in the closet for nearly a year. After calming down, I reapproached it. The dealer had changed hands. Took me a few years to master it and what I did figure out worked beautifully but we never really bonded. I found BL to be more user friendly and precise enough for my needs.
