Just bought a new Juki f600. My automatic needle threader does not thread. I vaguely recall reading somewhere a tip about pushing down the lever.

Tried searching the forum. Not sure where I read it.

I have tried pushing it all the way down .. slowly, fast, etc .. nothing did the trick. Tried switching out the needle, thinking I may not have changed and positioned it accurately.

Nothing worked. While I do not mind threading manually, it would be nice to use the automatic threader ..

Any tips greatly welcome.

Thank you.

3 things have to happen, the little metal hook has to get though the needle eye, and the the thread had to be in front of it where that can catch it, and if it pulls the loop of thread though, the loop has to stay sticking out of there long enough and far enough for you to grab it with your fingers.

You could watch that little hook on it, while you do it, and if the hook is not ever going though your needle eye, then of course it can't pull the thread through afterwards. If the hook really goes though your needle eye though, then it's probably just some way you are using it, that is making the thread not right in front of where the hook could pull it through. Or maybe all that happens, but the loop of the thread is getting pulled out before you grab it. Only you can see it.

When you think you have pushed it all the way down, keep pushing. For some reason (at least on mine) you have to give it that little extra shove or the hook doesn't go through the needle. Hope that works for you.

Thank you ladies .. it was having to push the lever/button all the way down. It still sticks a bit and I have to push it back up. Hopefully with use that will go away.
