I've been interested trying these as so many members seem to love them. So, what are peoples' favorites: Standard, Professional, Serrated? What sizes do you like? Thanks for the heads up on the sale.

I have very small hands and would be wasting money on blades longer than 9" because I just can't open anything larger.

My last purchase was for a pair of the Professional 9" shears. I love them. I don't know how much of a difference there is between the Professional and Serrated ones. I have a pair of regular and serrated Gingher shears and even if I look closely at the blades, I still have a hard time telling which is which. You can email or call Kai, they are very responsive and friendly.

I bought a pair of Kai pinking shears from Wawak (they seem to have the best price) and they are far more comfortable than my Ginghers.

A serrated blade is supposed to be more accurate as it will grab the fabric and hold it while cutting so there should be less shifting when the fabric gets 'lifted'. I have a pair of serrated Gingher that do seem to cut very nicely.

What luck finding this thread! Or I guess not so lucky as I'm now $100 poorer... I Heart my Kai scissors. I have the one with the serrated edge and I've been wanting one without. The serrated edge does grip the fabric well - but you can never have too many scissors in my book.

You'll have to report back about how much of a difference the non-serrated one is! I ended up picking up some nail clippers, airplane safe scissors and kitchen shears today. Nothing for the sewing room, maybe next year!

Double post - I just posted about this sale, but someone beat me to it! :-)

For those who want to purchase, I recommend the gift set which has 3 pairs, an 8", a 4" and a 5 or 6" pair. I also bought the 28mm rotary cutter & blades.

Since I've had those, I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and now just purchased the 45mm rotary cutter & blades and a pair of embroidery snippers, plus replacement blades.

Grab this deal while you can!

I have the Professional Kai in the 8", 9", and 10". My favorite is probably the 9". Someone mentioned WAWAK as a good place to get them. Their prices are the best and even better if you use the Threads coupon code THREADS1113.

I have a couple pairs of Ginghers too, but I haven't used them since getting my first pair of Kai 6 or 7 years ago. They haven't even needed to be sharpened.
